Maa Narayani Saloon Parlour

We are located at 2117 Rath Road, which is right in the heart of Old Bhubaneshwar. It’s a very old part of the city, and you can feel that history when you walk around the narrow streets. We are quite close to the Silla Appartment building, so we get a lot of residents from there coming in. Our place is a mix of a saloon and a parlour, so we handle a bit of everything throughout the day. Some days it’s mostly men wanting a shave, and other days we have ladies coming in for various things. It’s a bit of a jumble sometimes, but we make it work somehow. The shop is usually filled with the smell of different soaps and creams. We have some old chairs that are still very comfortable for our visitors. I like watching the traffic go by on Rath Road; it never really seems to stop, even late in the evening. We aren't a big corporate chain or anything like that. It’s just us doing our daily work. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just wait it out with a hand fan while chatting. That’s just life in this part of town. Most of the people who come here are neighbors we’ve known for years. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people want to see us, they just walk in. It’s been that way for years and we don’t see a reason to change it now. We just do our work.
