The shop stays open until quite late in the evening most days. Jay Sriram Saloon is right there in Unit 1, Siripur, which means we get a lot of people from OUAT walking by the front door. The mirrors are a bit old and have some spots on them, but they show what they need to when someone sits down. It is just a regular place where men come to get their hair cut or have a shave. You can hear the traffic from the main road while you sit inside the chair. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of clicking noise, but nobody really minds it much. We keep the towels on the shelf and try to keep things organized. There are some posters on the wall that have been there for years now. The location is easy for everyone in Bhubaneshwar 751009 to find without much trouble. On weekends, it gets a bit crowded and some folks have to wait outside on the wooden bench for their turn. We usually have the radio on low in the background playing some local songs. It is not a fancy place with air conditioning or expensive lights, but it does the job for the neighborhood. People stop by just to say hello even if they do not need a haircut today. The shop has been in this spot for a long time. We see the same faces every month and it is nice to know everyone.
