Mandakhinachandi Catering

We operate out of Old Town in the Old Bhubaneswar area. It is a place with a lot of history and very narrow streets, so doing catering here is always an adventure. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time. Our kitchen is usually busy with the sounds of chopping and the hiss of the big burners. We focus on the kind of meals that people in this part of town have been eating for generations. There is no corporate structure here at Mandakhinachandi Catering. It is just a group of us who know how to cook for large groups of people. We spend a lot of time sourcing the right ingredients from the local markets nearby. Sometimes the traffic in Old Town makes it hard to get our vans out on time, but we usually manage to find a way through the back lanes. We don't have a big website or a social media person. Most people just hear about us from their neighbors or see us working at a wedding nearby. The floors are often wet from washing the big pots, and there's always a bag of rice or lentils sitting in the corner. It's a real working environment, not a polished office. We just try to make sure the food is hot and there is enough for everyone who shows up to the party. It is a messy job but someone has to do it.
