Kalia Fast Food

Kalia Fast Food is right in the middle of Market Street in Sahid Nagar. We are very close to St Xaviers High School, so we see a lot of students and parents every day. Bhubaneshwar is a busy city and this market is always crowded. We’ve been here in the 751007 zip code for a long time. It’s a small shop, mostly for grabbing something quick and moving on. There isn't much room to sit, but people don't seem to mind. They stand around and talk while they eat. I handle the counter most days and my brother helps with the frying. It gets really hot in here during the summer with the stove going, but we’re used to it by now. We don't use any fancy machines, just our hands and old pans. The street noise is constant—horns honking and people shouting—but that’s just the atmosphere of the market. We start prepping early in the morning so everything is ready for the lunch crowd. Sometimes the school kids come in all at once and it gets a bit chaotic, but it’s good to see them. We aren't looking to expand into a big chain or anything. We just like our spot on Market Street and doing things the way we’ve always done them. It’s just honest work for us, day in and day out, serving the people who walk by our shop.
