Mateshwari Mobile Repairing is right there at the Bus Stand. It is probably one of the busiest spots you can imagine because people are always rushing to catch a bus or just arriving from somewhere else. Because we are at the Bus Stand, we see a lot of people who are in a hurry. They usually come in because their phone died or they dropped it while getting off a bus. We have a small counter and a lot of tools scattered around for fixing things quickly. The air is always full of the smell of diesel and the sound of drivers shouting the destinations. It is a bit of a dusty place because the buses kick up a lot of grit from the ground, so we have to keep our repair bench covered when we are not using it. There is a small stool for me to sit on and a narrow space for customers to stand. We do not have a lot of room for extra stuff, just the essentials for fixing mobiles. Sometimes travelers leave their bags for a minute while they wait for a repair, so the shop feels even smaller. It is a fast-paced spot but we try to keep our heads down and focus on the work. It is an honest living in a very loud part of town where the buses never seem to stop coming and going through the day and night.
