We started things at Sachin Bapu Girhepunje’s house, specifically at No 207 in Gandhi Ward. It’s a busy little spot in Pauni Mokhara. Most of us grew up around here, knowing nothing but the fields and the seasonal changes. The sun gets pretty hot in this part of the world, but you get used to it after a few years. We aren't big city people with fancy offices or glass windows. We just sit together on the porch or under the shade of a tree and talk about what we need for the next season. It’s mostly about helping each other get seeds or figuring out where to sell what we grow so we don't lose money like in the old days. Jagacha Poshinda Farmer Producer Company Limited sounds like a really long name for a business, but it’s just us farmers from the local neighborhood. Some days are harder than others, especially when the rain doesn't show up when it's supposed to or when the market prices drop for no reason. We share tools and advice, and sometimes we just complain about the cost of fertilizer. That’s how it goes in a small place like this. There’s no big boss or anything, just a bunch of neighbors trying to make a living from the land. If you walk down the road in Pauni, you’ll probably see one of us out there working. We don't have a lot of paperwork, just the house address where we meet.
