It’s a small operation, run out of a house, and we like it that way because it keeps our costs down. We sit around on the porch and talk about things like seed quality or when the rain might finally come. It isn't a high-pressure environment, but we do get things done. Sometimes the paperwork piles up and we have to spend a whole Sunday catching up. We don't really have a big marketing plan or anything like that. Word travels fast in Dashrathtola, so everyone knows who we are and what we are doing. It’s about helping each other out when someone’s tractor breaks or when the market prices take a dip. We are just a bunch of regular people who know a lot about soil and not a lot about fancy business talk. We take pride in the work we do in the fields and this company is just a way to support that. It's local, it's honest, and it's ours.
