Vijma Foods

Our business, Vijma Foods, is based out of 105, Kalpatru Heritage Apartment. We are on the 1st Main Road, 1st Cross in Bsk 3rd Stage, Vivekanand Nagar. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a food business because it’s an apartment building, but we’ve made it work for us. We use the space to manage everything and do some of our smaller-scale prep work. It’s a nice neighborhood, very green and quiet for the most part. I started this because I’ve always liked working with food and wanted to see if I could make a go of it on my own. Most days involve me and a helper getting things ready for our customers. We don't have a storefront, so most of our interactions happen over the phone or when we go out to deliver. The apartment can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock, but we’ve learned how to stack things efficiently. We know most of the people in the building, and they’ve been very supportive of what we’re doing. It’s a bit of a juggle sometimes, keeping the home life and the work life separate in the same area, but it’s a good way to start. We aren't looking to change much right now. We just want to keep things the way they are and make sure our regular customers are happy with what they get from us. It’s a small operation but it’s ours.
