About Asha Sweet Centre – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
We’ve been here on Sampige Road for quite some time now. If you know Malleswaram, you know how busy this 8th Cross area gets, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. Our shop is at number 131, right in the thick of things. It’s not a fancy place with modern glass walls or anything like that. We have our counters filled with sweets and the smell of ghee usually hangs in the air all day. The staff here have been around for years, mostly just local guys who know the regulars by face. We start early in the morning, getting the milk boiled and the first batches of snacks ready before the morning rush starts. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud with all the buses and autos honking, but inside we just keep busy with the trays. People come in for a quick bite or to pack something for home. It’s a simple setup really. We don’t spend much time on decorations. The shelves are mostly just for the boxes and the different varieties we make. Malleswaram has changed a lot, with new shops opening up everywhere, but we are still here in the same spot. It’s a bit cramped when it’s crowded, but that’s just how it is on Sampige Road. Sometimes the glass on the display cases gets a bit smudged by the afternoon, but we wipe it down when we get a spare minute. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure there’s enough for everyone who stops by. It gets really warm near the frying section.
