Pahalwans

We’ve been here in RT Nagar for a while now, tucked into the Gundappa Reddy Layout. It’s a busy spot near the Sujaya Apartments, and there’s always something happening right outside our door. Most people around here know where we are, but sometimes they get a bit turned around in the Hebbal Post area if they aren’t from around here. It isn't a fancy place by any means. We spend most of our mornings just getting everything ready before the sun gets too high and the streets get loud. The air in the layout can get a bit dusty when the traffic picks up in the afternoon, but that’s just how Bangalore is these days. Our space is simple. We have the usual chairs and tables, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever got around to it. Usually, we are just busy talking to the regulars who stop by on their way to work. It’s a lot of the same faces every day, which is nice for us. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. People just find us or they hear about us from their neighbors. It’s quiet enough in the evenings, though. Sometimes I sit by the window and watch the bikes go past while I check the lists for the next day. It’s just us doing our thing here in the apartment block. We hope the power stays on and the water runs fine, and that’s about as much as we plan for.
