Vaishnav Snacks & Sweets

Morning starts early here at Mathikere 104. Usually, the lights are on before the sun even comes up. We have to get the fryers going for the morning snacks. It gets really warm in the kitchen once we start cooking. Vaishnav Snacks & Sweets isn't a massive place, but it keeps us busy from dawn till late at night. We spend a lot of time chopping vegetables and mixing dough. Sometimes the flour gets everywhere, even on our clothes. It's just part of the job. Most of our customers are locals who live just a few streets away. They know us by name and we know what they usually want without them asking. The counter is small, so it gets crowded during the evening rush. We try to keep things moving fast so nobody has to wait too long. We make everything right here. There’s no trucks bringing in pre-made stuff. Sometimes we run out of the popular sweets by late afternoon and people get a bit annoyed, but that’s just how it goes when you make small batches. Mathikere is a loud place with lots of bikes zooming past. We’ve been in this spot for years and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon. It’s a simple life, mostly just cooking and cleaning and talking to the people who walk through the door. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop and the kitchen where we work every day.
