About Sweet Confectioner – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
If you ever find yourself wandering through Kalasipalyam, especially near C Wing 31, you might stumble upon our shop. We’ve been making sweets here for a long time. It’s a very busy part of town with trucks and carts moving all the time, so it gets pretty dusty and loud right outside our doors. Inside, it’s a different story with the smell of sugar and ghee. We don’t have a fancy showroom at all. Most of our space is taken up by big metal vats and trays of whatever we finished making that morning. We sell mostly to the people living right here or the shopkeepers who need something for their afternoon tea. Sometimes a tourist wanders in looking lost and we give them a little sample to try. We don’t have a website or a social media page because we are honestly too busy actually cooking. My uncle handles the accounts on a small wooden desk in the corner that’s probably older than I am. The floor is just plain concrete and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we focus more on what goes into the boxes. It’s hard work, standing over the heat all day, but it’s the trade we know. We don't try to be fancy or modern. We just make what people like and keep the doors open six days a week for the neighborhood.
