Sweet & Spice Taste Of Tradition

We are Sweet & Spice Taste Of Tradition, located on Citylight Road in Basavanagar. The shop is filled with glass cases where we keep the different sweets. It takes a long time to make some of these. We use a lot of sugar and milk. You can smell it from the street sometimes. We also have the spicy snacks in the big bags. People usually buy a mix of both. It's a family thing, we've been doing this for a while. The floor is tile and we scrub it every night. We don't have a lot of decorations on the walls. Just the shelves and the food. Basavanagar is a nice area, quite a few families live around here. They come in for festivals especially. Then it gets really busy and we barely have time to sit down. My uncle handles the frying in the back. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day. We try to keep everything fresh. If something doesn't look right, we don't put it out. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where Citylight Road is. We’ve got the same regulars who come every Friday. It’s a simple routine. We pack everything in paper boxes and tie them with string. It’s just what we do. The scales we use are quite old but they still work well enough for us.
