Srinivasa Theatre Gowdanpalya

You can find Srinivasa Theatre Gowdanpalya at Padmanabhanagar Vijay Nagar Society 31/1. It’s an older building, and you can tell by looking at the architecture. We’ve been showing movies here for quite some time. It’s not like those big malls with twenty screens. We just have the one main hall. The seats are the old-fashioned kind, and sometimes they squeak when you sit down. We spend a lot of time cleaning up popcorn and wrappers after each show. The lobby is small, with just a few posters on the walls. We try to keep things running on time, but sometimes the projector gives us a bit of trouble and we have to fix it on the fly. The people who come here are mostly from the Vijay Nagar Society or nearby parts of Padmanabhanagar. It’s a local crowd. Families come on the weekends, and you can hear the kids getting excited before the lights go down. We sell snacks at the counter, nothing fancy, just the usual stuff people like to eat during a movie. The ticket booth is right at the front, and the glass has a few scratches on it from years of use. It’s a simple operation. We like being part of the neighborhood. When the show ends and everyone walks out at once, the street outside gets really crowded for a few minutes. Then it goes back to being quiet until the next screening. We mostly just keep the reels spinning and the floors swept for the next group.
