Sree Chamundeshwari Sweets

We’ve been here on Lalbagh Road for a while now, right in that lane behind Kiran Motors. Sree Chamundeshwari Sweets is just a small place we run as a family. Most mornings start very early because the fresh milk arrives and we have to get the heavy pans going. It gets quite warm in the back when the sugar is boiling down for the burfis. People stop by on their way home or sometimes just to grab something quick while their cars are getting fixed nearby. We don't have fancy seats or anything like that, just the glass counters and the steel trays. My brother helps out with the frying and I usually handle the packing and the till. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but we like it here. Sometimes the batches don't look exactly the same every single day, but that's how it goes when you make things by hand. We try to keep things fresh and simple. Some days are much busier than others, especially around the festivals when everyone wants the same thing at once. We just keep doing what we do. The floor gets a bit sticky sometimes by the end of the shift. If you are looking for us, just turn down Lane 51. It’s easy to miss if you aren't looking, but we are right there. We mostly know the regulars by their names or what they usually buy. It’s just a normal shop.
