Shree Venkateshwara Sweets & Chats

Shree Venkateshwara Sweets & Chats is our little shop in Okalipuram, Mankhurd West 41395. We have been making sweets here for a long time. It’s a family thing, really. My father taught me how to measure the sugar and milk, and now I’m doing the same. We have trays of different colored sweets lined up in the glass cases. Some days the glass gets all foggy because of the heat. We also have a small corner where we make chats in the afternoon. That’s when it gets really busy. People love the crunch and the spice. We spend a lot of time prepping the tamarind water and chopping cilantro. It’s a lot of small tasks that add up. The shop is located on a narrow street, so it can get a bit cramped when there are more than five people inside. We don't have a fancy website or anything. Most people just know us because they live nearby or their parents used to buy sweets from us. We try to keep things consistent, but sometimes the batch of milk we get isn't as good as the day before, and we have to work harder to make it right. That’s just the nature of working with food. We close up late in the evening once the last tray of snacks is gone. Then we clean everything up and get ready to do it all over again the next day.
