Shree Raghavendra Sweets

We have our shop in Jayanagar West, over in the Manjalpur area of Vadodara. Shree Raghavendra Sweets is what we call it. It’s a local neighborhood shop, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. Inside, we have our glass cases filled with whatever we made fresh that morning. We use recipes that have been around for a long time. There's no big secret to it, just staying at the stove and watching the heat. The morning rush is usually for breakfast items, and then it gets quiet until the evening. We spend the middle of the day prepping for the next batch. It’s a lot of stirring and sugar. The floors are stone and we keep them as clean as we can. Sometimes the weather in Vadodara makes it hard to keep things fresh, so we make smaller amounts more often. We know most of the people who live on this street. They stop in for a chat as much as for the food. We don't really have a website or do much online. Most people just know where we are. It’s a simple life running a sweet shop. We like the smell of the ghee and the spices that hangs in the air all day. It feels like home to us. We’ve been at this spot for years and don't really see ourselves anywhere else. It’s just what we do and it keeps us busy.
