Shagun Sweets & Snacks

Our shop, Shagun Sweets & Snacks, is tucked away in Jayanagar 6th Block 1st Main, specifically at 6th B Cross, Kottige Palya 193. It’s a busy little spot, especially in the afternoons when the kids are coming home from school. We have these big glass counters filled with all sorts of things we make every day. There’s always a big pot of oil heating up for the samosas and kachoris. The smell of sugar syrup is everywhere because we’re usually making a fresh batch of jalebis or gulab jamuns. We start very early in the morning when the air is still cool to get the milk boiling and the dough ready. It’s hard work and it gets quite hot near the big stoves in the back. We have a few small tables for people who want to eat right there, but most people just take things home in little cardboard boxes tied with string. Sometimes we get really busy during festival times and the line goes out the door, which is a bit stressful but we manage. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, so we know most of the people who walk by. We don't have a big corporate team, just us family members and a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. We just try to make enough food for the day and hope people enjoy what they bought.
