Our place is tucked away in the 4th Phase of the Peenya Industrial Area. To be exact, we are at 340 B on the 9th Cross and 4th Main. Peenya can be a bit of a maze if you don’t know your way around, with all the different phases and crosses. We’ve been operating out of this unit for some time. It’s a regular industrial building where we handle all the food processing and packing. The machines take up most of the floor space, so it can get a bit tight when we have a lot of stock coming in. We start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. Most of the staff live nearby, so they walk or cycle in. We don't have a big reception area or anything. Just the main work floor and a small desk for the paperwork. Everything here is about getting the work done. We deal with raw ingredients and get them ready for the market. Sometimes the 9th Cross gets blocked by big lorries, but that’s just how it goes in this part of town. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the industrial area. It’s not a quiet job, but it’s honest work. We spend our time checking the quality of what comes through the doors. Nothing leaves here unless we’ve looked at it ourselves. It's just a bunch of us making sure things run right every single day of the week including Saturdays when it's half day.
