Sai Ram Hot Chips

We are located in Mahalaxmi Puram at 30 6. Most of the day here at Sai Ram Hot Chips is spent near the big frying vats. It gets quite warm inside the shop, especially in the afternoons. We slice the potatoes and bananas right here. You can hear the oil bubbling almost all day long. My clothes usually smell like oil by the time I go home. We keep the chips in the glass bins so people can see what is fresh. There is no big secret to what we do, we just fry the chips and salt them. Sometimes we add spice if that’s what is needed. The neighborhood of Mahalaxmi Puram is quite busy, so there is always someone walking past the door. We have to keep up with the demand during the evening rush when people are heading back from work. It is a small shop, so things can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of bags to fill. We use a lot of oil and salt every single day. The floor can get a little slippery if we aren't careful with the cleaning. It’s basic work but it keeps us occupied from morning until late at night. We just focus on getting the chips out and making sure the bags are sealed properly for the customers. It is just a regular local shop where we work hard.
