Sagar Theatre has been sitting here at Gandhi Nagar 33 for a long time. It’s an old-school building, not like those shiny malls you see popping up everywhere now. We still have the big screen and the rows of seats that have seen thousands of people over the decades. Running a cinema is a lot of work that people don't see. Between the shows, we have to hurry and clean up all the popcorn bags and empty bottles before the next crowd comes in. The projectors are old but they still work fine most days. When a big movie comes out, the whole street gets blocked with bikes and people shouting for tickets. It’s loud and chaotic, but that’s the fun part of being in Gandhi Nagar. We have a small canteen that sells snacks, and the smell of oil and salt is always in the air. My father started working here years ago, and now I’m the one looking after the daily operations. We deal with all sorts of issues, from broken seats to fans that stop spinning in the middle of a hot afternoon. It’s not a perfect place, and the walls have some cracks, but it has a lot of history. People come here because it’s familiar and it doesn't cost a fortune to see a film. We just keep the doors open and the reels spinning for everyone.
