Ravi Theatre has been sitting at Sarjapura Model Colony 452 for many years now. It’s one of those older buildings that has seen a lot of history. We still show movies the old-fashioned way, and the seats are the kind that have been there for a long time. It’s not like those big multiplexes in the malls with the reclining chairs and expensive snacks. We have a small counter where we sell popcorn and some soda, and that’s about it. People from the colony come here because it’s close to home and they don't have to deal with the city traffic. The screen is big, and the sound system is loud enough to fill the room. Sometimes the projector acts up for a second, but we usually get it sorted out quickly. It’s got a bit of a nostalgic feel to it, even if we didn't mean for it to be that way. The lobby is small and can get crowded during the intermission. We keep the ticket prices low so that anyone can come and watch a show. It’s a community spot, really. You see the same neighbors every time a new movie comes out. We just like movies and we like being the place where people can go to see them. It’s a simple building at number 452, but it’s home to us.
