About Ramadharshan Sweets – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
If you go down Banneraghatta Road toward Meharban Village, you’ll eventually find us at 161/A. Ramadharshan Sweets has been in this spot for quite some time now. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city center, but we like it out here. The air is a little different. We focus on making traditional sweets, the kind you don't find much in the big fancy malls. We use a lot of ghee and sugar, and the smell of it cooking usually drifts out onto the street. My brother and I run the place together. He handles the cooking in the back while I stand at the counter and talk to the customers. We have a lot of regulars from the village who come in for their daily fix of something sweet. The shop itself is pretty plain. We have some benches outside where people can sit and eat if they want. It’s not the most modern looking place, and the paint on the walls is peeling a little bit near the ceiling. We don't really care about that stuff as much as how the things in the display cases actually taste. It’s a lot of work keeping the flies away and making sure everything stays fresh in the heat. We stay open pretty late because people like to stop by on their way home from work. It’s a quiet, honest way to make a living. We just keep the trays full and the sugar syrup boiling.
