Raju Sweets Chat Center

Raju Sweets Chat Center is sitting right at Betappa Road 1. It’s not a very large place, just a simple room with a kitchen area and a few spots for people to eat their food. I started this place because I like cooking, and now it’s what I do every single day from morning until night. We make different kinds of chats and some basic sweets. The stove is right near the front, so you can see the steam rising up when you walk past. I have a small stool I sit on when there aren't many customers, but that doesn't happen very often in the evenings. The walls are painted a light blue, though they’re getting a bit dark near the ceiling from the smoke. Betappa Road is a narrow street, so it gets very congested with bikes and people walking. Sometimes people park right in front of the door and I have to ask them to move so customers can get in. I use a lot of paper plates and plastic spoons because it’s easier than washing everything. It’s a bit of a messy way to work, but it’s fast. I don’t have any help, so I do the cooking, the cleaning, and the money all by myself. It’s hard work but it keeps me busy and I know most of the people who live around here by their first names. It gets lonely sometimes but the customers keep me talking.
