Om Sai Sweets

We've been here at Om Sai Sweets on Race Course Road for quite a while now. Most days it’s just us trying to get the milk to boil right and making sure the sugar syrup doesn't get too thick. It’s a bit of a mess in the back sometimes with all the flour bags stacked up. We open early because people like to grab stuff on their way to work. You can find us at 41427 without much trouble. The shop isn't fancy or anything, just some glass counters and a couple of stools if you want to sit. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who come in every single day for their usual box. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the door but we put a bucket there and carry on. It’s hard work, standing all day, but it’s what we do. We make the laddoos by hand and sometimes they aren't perfectly round, but they taste okay. My uncle started this place and now I'm here helping out. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the heavy pans. The street gets loud outside with all the traffic, but inside it mostly smells like cardamom and fried dough. We don't use fancy packaging, just the plain boxes with the rubber bands. If you're passing by Race Course Road, you’ll see the sign. It’s nothing special, just a local spot where we try to keep things simple and honest.
