Moonlight Theatre

You can find the Moonlight Theatre in Sadashivnagar on Sus Road. It’s an older building that has been around for quite some time. The lobby has that distinct smell of buttered popcorn and old carpets. We don't have those fancy reclining seats you see in the malls, just the regular fold-down ones that have been sat in by thousands of people. The screen is big, and the projector room is up a narrow set of stairs that creak every time you step on them. We spend our evenings tearing tickets and pointing people toward the right hall. The snacks counter is small, and we mostly sell the basics like sodas and tubs of corn. Sometimes the sound system hums a little before the movie starts, but once the film is running, it’s fine. We have a lot of regulars from the neighborhood who come for the late shows. The bathrooms are down a long hallway and the tiles are a bit faded. After the last show ends, we spend a lot of time walking between the rows with a flashlight. We pick up empty cups and wrappers that people left behind. It’s a quiet life during the day, but it picks up once the sun goes down. The neon sign outside starts flickering around that time. We just keep the reels turning and the lights dim when the movie starts. It's just an old theater on a quiet street.
