Our shop is right on the Bilekahalli Highway Road at 5-1-145/2 -99. Being so close to the highway means there is always a lot of dust coming in from the cars and trucks. We spend a good portion of our time cleaning the glass display cases so people can actually see what is inside. The sweets are all lined up in rows on silver trays. It is mostly milk and sugar based things that we have been making the same way for years. In the afternoons the sun hits the front window and it gets really warm inside even with the fans going. People who are traveling often stop their cars right outside to pick up a box of something for their families. We have a heavy metal scale on the counter that we use all day long. My hands usually feel a bit sticky by the time I am ready to go home. The neighborhood around Bilekahalli is changing fast and there is a lot of new construction happening nearby. We just focus on our work and keep the trays filled up. It is a simple rhythm and we do not try to make it more complicated than it needs to be. The regulars know we are here and they usually come in for the same things every week. It is just a regular shop doing what it does every day.
