Lakshmi Sweets & Chats

The shop is right here at Banashankari 2nd Stage 70. It is a small place where we spend most of our day behind the counter or back in the kitchen area. People come in for a quick snack when they are heading home from work or just walking through the neighborhood. We start early every morning to get the counters ready. There is usually a lot of noise from the street outside, but inside we just focus on keeping things moving. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone wants their chats at the same time. We don't have much fancy seating, just enough for a few folks to stand and eat. The floor gets a bit messy during the rush hours, but we try to sweep it up when things go quiet for a minute. Lakshmi Sweets & Chats has been part of this corner for some time. We see the same faces every day, mostly neighbors who live just a few streets away. It is not a very big operation, just a few of us working together to make sure there is enough food for everyone who stops by. We keep the glass cases filled with whatever we finished making that hour. The lights stay on until late at night. It feels like a normal part of the day for us to be here, talking to people and packing up boxes. We don't really think about it too much, we just show up and start the work.
