La Casa Del Gelato

We are located over in JP Nagar on Ulsoor Road. It is a bit of a walk from the main bus stand but people find us anyway. The shop isn't very large. We have the big glass display units right at the front so you can see all the different colors and tubs of gelato as soon as you walk in. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass because kids are always putting their hands on it to point at what they want. There are a few small tables but most people prefer to take their cones outside. The sun hits the front window in the late afternoon, so we usually pull the shade down halfway to keep the place from getting too warm. We have a small sink in the back where we wash the scoops and the metal trays. It’s a constant cycle of cleaning and refilling. The staff wears aprons that usually end up with a few stains by the end of the shift. It’s just the nature of the job. In the evenings, it gets quite busy with families coming in after dinner. We try to keep the floor swept, but with so many people coming in, it’s hard to stay on top of it. The lights inside are quite bright, making the whole place stand out on the street when it gets dark outside. It’s just a simple shop where we keep the freezers running and the floors mopped.
