Finding us at Basaveshwara Nagar 3Rd Cross in the A N Gupta Layout can be a little tricky if you aren’t from around here, but once you find the fourth building, you’re there. The shop has a lot of history tied to it, though we don't spend much time talking about it because there is always too much work to get done. The morning starts with checking the milk deliveries. If the milk isn't right, nothing else works. Our staff has been here for years, and they know the kitchen better than their own homes. We don't use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is just hands and heavy pots. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it keeps the air moving. When the lunch hour hits, the street gets busy and things feel a bit frantic for a while. Then it quiets down again in the afternoon. We don’t have a website or a marketing person. We just have the counter and the products we make. Some days are slower than others, which gives us time to fix a stool or organize the storage room. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We just show up, do the work, and hope the rain doesn't leak through the front awning. It is a simple life and we are happy enough with it.
