K C Das Klassic Foods is over at Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar 410. Most people around here know the name, but our little shop is just a regular spot on the street. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the daily rush of people coming in for snacks or something sweet to take home. The place is usually full of the smell of whatever was made fresh that morning. We have these glass counters that we’re constantly wiping down because of all the fingerprints. It’s a bit of a routine—opening up early, getting the displays ready, and then serving customers until we close. We don't have a lot of fancy seating; it’s more of a place where you get what you want and move on. The street at RT Nagar 410 can get pretty crowded, so parking is always a bit of a mess outside our door. Inside, we try to keep things moving fast so people don't have to wait too long. We’ve had the same scales and some of the same containers for years. They’re a bit old, but they work fine. We aren't a big corporate chain with a manual for everything. We just know how we like things done and we stick to that. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by midday, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s just a neighborhood food shop, run by people who live nearby.
