Janani Pan Bhandar

The shop is located at number 30 on the 7th cross in Narasimharaja Colony. It’s a small place, really just enough room for the counter and a person to stand behind it. Janani Pan Bhandar has been on this corner for quite some time now. We usually start getting everything ready in the afternoon. The smell of the leaves and the different ingredients we use is pretty strong when you get close. It is a quiet enough street most of the time, but you get the occasional crowd after dinner hours. The walls have some old shelves where we keep the supplies. It’s not painted in any bright colors or anything like that. We just have a small light that stays on until we close up late at night. People usually just lean against the wall outside while they wait. There isn't any seating. We know most of the people who stop by because they live right around here. It’s a very simple setup. Sometimes the supply of leaves is a bit late, and we just have to wait around. The counter is a bit worn down from years of use. We don't have a big sign, just enough so people know what we sell. It’s just a basic neighborhood shop where we do our work and talk to the neighbors as they pass by. We try to keep things organized but it is a tight space.
