Gopolan Cinemas

Gopolan Cinemas is out here in Rajarajeshwari Nagar 3Rd Stage. It is a big building that really comes to life on the weekends when the families come out. During the week, it can be a bit quiet in the afternoons, which is when we do most of our maintenance work. We spend our time checking the rows of seats for left-behind popcorn bags or forgotten umbrellas. The lobby has those big posters of movies that we switch out every few weeks. It is a lot of work to keep a place this size running smoothly. We have to manage the crowds at the ticket window and make sure the queues move fast so nobody misses the start of their film. The sound system is loud and you can feel the bass in the floor when you are standing in the hallway. We are just local staff who live nearby, so we know the area well. It is a good place to work if you like seeing people when they are out having a good time. We don't have any polished speeches about the magic of the movies. For us, it is about making sure the AC is working and the screen looks clear. After the last show ends, we walk through the halls with our brooms and get it all ready for the next day. It is a routine we know by heart now.
