Malleshwaram has that old-fashioned feel that you don't find in the newer parts of the city. We are located on the 7th Cross, right off Sampige Road at number 14. If you walk down the street during the morning hours, you can see all the flower sellers setting up their baskets and the smell of jasmine is everywhere. Our spot at number 14 is a small part of that daily scene. We’ve been here long enough that the cracks in the floor tiles feel like old friends. It’s a narrow street, so things can get a bit tight when the delivery vans try to squeeze past the parked scooters. We don’t really go in for any of that modern decor or loud music. It’s just a place where we work, keeping the counters wiped down and the stock arranged. The 7th Cross is a busy little shortcut for locals, so we get to see a lot of the residents who have lived in Malleshwaram for decades. It’s a quiet kind of busy, if that makes any sense. We open the shutters early, usually while the air is still a bit cool, and stay until the evening rush starts to fade away. Number 14 on Sampige Road is just a simple building where we do our thing every day without making any kind of fuss about it. It’s home to us now. It’s just how things are around here.
