Bhagatram Sweets

Bhagatram Sweets is right on the Shivaji Nagar Main Road at 174/14. If you know this area, you know how loud and crowded it gets with all the traffic and people walking by. Our shop has been here for years, and not much has changed inside. We still use the same old recipes for our gulab jamun and jalebis. The big iron vats in the back are always bubbling with oil or syrup. It’s a hot job, especially in the summer. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that spin as fast as they can. The counter is always busy, and sometimes people have to elbow their way in to get served. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit, so most customers just eat standing up or take their boxes to go. The floor gets sticky from the syrup, no matter how much we mop it. We aren't trying to be fancy or modern. We just keep doing what we’ve always done. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but everyone knows where we are. We see the same faces every week, people who have been coming since they were small. It’s a loud, sweet, and sticky place, and that’s just how Shivaji Nagar is. We hope to stay here for many more years to come, serving the same snacks.
