Bansure Sweets

Bansure Sweets is located over at Pattegarapalya Lakkasandra, right on the 16th Cross in Gopalappa Layout, house number 10/A. If you know the area, you know it can be a bit of a maze with all the crosses and layouts, but we’ve made our home here. Making sweets is a lot of work and it usually starts while most people are still asleep. We have big pots going and the smell of sugar usually fills up the whole street by seven in the morning. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone talking or some noise coming from the back kitchen. We don’t have fancy display cases like the big chains in the city center, but we keep our counters full of what we made that day. The 16th Cross gets pretty crowded in the evenings when people are heading home from work. They stop by to pick up something for tea. We try to keep things moving fast because nobody likes waiting when they’re tired. Sometimes we run out of the popular items early and then we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the flour and syrup, but we do our best to keep it tidy. Being in Gopalappa Layout for this long means we’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in with their own families. It’s just a normal shop doing normal things for the people around here.
