We have been here on Kallubalu 80 Feet Road for a while now. The shop is in 1st Block 40-41. It is a busy area. We mostly handle groundnut sweets. Every day we get the peanuts ready. My hands are usually covered in sugar or peanut skin by midday. People come in from the road when they see us working. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making the sweets and packing them into boxes. Sometimes the 80 Feet Road gets very loud with traffic, but we just keep going. It is hard work to keep the batches consistent. We use the same stove and the same pans we have had for years. You can find us easily if you are near the 1st Block. We start early in the morning because the cooling takes time. Groundnut sweets need to set properly before we can snap them into pieces. If it is raining, the moisture makes it tricky, but we manage. Most days are just about watching the temperature and making sure the jaggery is right. We don't spend much time on decorations or anything like that. The shop is just a place where the work happens. We put the finished sweets on the shelves and wait for people to stop by on their way home. It’s a simple routine we’ve followed for a long time. It isn't anything fancy, just our daily work.
