Amoeba

This branch is right on the corner of Brigade Road and Church Street, number 22. It’s a loud place most of the time because of all the games and people talking. When you walk in, you immediately hear the sound of bowling balls hitting pins and the electronic noises from the machines. The lights are a bit dim compared to the street outside, with some neon colors here and there. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass on the game cabinets because of all the fingerprints left behind. On weekends, the crowd gets thick and it’s a bit of a squeeze getting through the aisles. The staff usually stands near the counter to help out with tokens or if a machine gets stuck. I’ve noticed the floor near the bowling lanes gets a bit slippery if we don't watch it. It’s a spot where teenagers and families end up spending a couple of hours. Church Street always has something going on, so we get a lot of foot traffic from people just wandering in to see what the noise is about. Sometimes the music is a little too loud, but that’s just how it is here. We have a lot of different machines, some old and some newer ones, and they all have their own quirks. It’s a busy environment and there’s never really a quiet moment until we lock the doors at night.
