Abhi Sagar Khova And Essence is found at number 169 on K K Nagar Road in Mahalakshmi Layout. We deal in something very specific, which is the raw materials for sweets and baking. If you walk past our shop, you can usually smell the different food essences we have in stock. We get fresh khova delivered regularly, and we have to be very careful with it since it doesn't stay good for long. It is a busy little place, especially during the festival seasons when everyone is making sweets at home. We have big metal containers and glass bottles everywhere. Most of our customers are regular people from the neighborhood or small bakery owners who have been buying from us for years. We don't have any fancy marketing or a big sign outside. People just know where we are. The counter is usually sticky from some spill or another, but we try to keep things moving. We don't have a lot of help, so it’s usually just one or two of us doing everything from weighing the khova to packing the essence bottles. It’s a lot of manual work and we stay on our feet for most of the day. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Mahalakshmi Layout, we just want to provide the ingredients that people need for their cooking. We keep the shop open until late evening for the last-minute shoppers.
