We are based over in the South Block of Donimalai, specifically at Type B/ 258. It’s a quiet part of the Bellary district in Karnataka. Our office is a simple place where we manage the local operations for Nmdc Ltd. You can usually reach us on the landline at 08395-274048 or 08395-232597 if the lines are behaving. We spend most of our time dealing with the daily grind of running things in this area. It’s not a high-tech environment. We use a lot of ledgers and paper files because that’s what we are comfortable with. The South Block has a certain feel to it—very steady and predictable. We’ve got a small team, and we all know each other’s business. It makes for a friendly atmosphere even when the work gets a bit heavy. We don't have any corporate slogans on the walls. Mostly just calendars and some old photos. We handle the paperwork that comes in from the post office here in Donimalai. Sometimes it feels like we are a long way from the head office, but we like the independence. We just try to stay on top of our tasks and make sure everything is in order. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We’ve been here for years, and we plan on staying. We just get on with it, day after day, in our corner of Bellary, making sure the job gets done.
