Our office is over in Devi Nagar, Bellary, tucked away in the Mallappa Compound. It’s near the Boys Remand Home, which is a well-known landmark if you’re trying to find your way to us. The address is actually part of a property that used to belong to a retired teacher, so it has a bit of a residential feel to it rather than a cold corporate one. Bellary is a tough place to work sometimes because of the intense heat and the dust from the industrial plants, but we’ve been here for a long time and got used to it. The office is pretty basic—just some desks, a few cupboards for files, and some old chairs that have been around since we started. We don't have a big sign out front, just the name on the door. Most of our work is about managing the iron and steel operations in this region. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls, making sure everything is moving according to plan. We take our breaks under the shade of the trees in the compound when it gets too stuffy inside the rooms. It’s a quiet spot for the most part, away from the main traffic and noise of the town. We don't really have a mission statement or any of that; we just focus on getting the shipments out and keeping the records straight for the business. It’s just a group of local people doing a job.
