Kalamma Street in Bellary is always a busy place to be. We are right in the thick of it here at Jsw Steel Ltd. If you’ve ever been down this way, you know the sound of traffic and the general hustle that defines the area. Our setup is pretty straightforward. We don’t have a big lobby or anything like that. It’s just an office where we manage the steel business for this side of town. The heat in Bellary can be something else, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. We keep the fans going and just get on with the paperwork. People drop by all the time, mostly locals who have been dealing with us for years. We handle a lot of the regional coordination from this spot. It’s a lot of phone calls, checking manifests, and making sure the loads are ready for transport. The floor is concrete, and there are stacks of registers everywhere because we still like to write things down. It feels real. You can smell the dust from the road and hear the tea seller outside. We aren’t interested in looking polished. We just want to make sure the steel gets to the sites on time. It is honest work and we have a small crew that knows the city like the back of their hand.
