We are over in Begusarai, specifically around the Chhaurahi area near Ijaraha. This place belongs to the family, under Kailash Yadav’s name, and we’ve been working this land for a while now. It’s not a big fancy operation or anything like that. Just a farm where we try to keep things moving day by day. The weather here in Bihar can be a real handful, sometimes it's too dry and then the rains come and everything gets muddy, but that’s just how it goes for us. We spend most of our mornings out there checking the crops and making sure the soil is looking okay. People around here know where we are, just past the post office. We aren't trying to do anything world-changing, just growing what we can and making sure the work gets done right. Sometimes the machinery breaks down or the seeds don't take like we wanted, so we just fix it and try again the next season. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours under the sun, but it’s what we know how to do. If you walk by our spot in Begusarai, you’ll probably see a few of us just sitting under the shade for a minute before getting back to it. We just keep our heads down and focus on the dirt and the plants. It’s a quiet life mostly, besides the noise from the tools now and then.
