We started Maajankifarms Farmers Producer Company Limited because people in Rashidpur needed a way to work together better. It’s mostly just us local farmers from around the Begusarai area. Sunilkr Chaudhary’s place is where we handle the paperwork and meet up to talk. Farming around here is hard work and sometimes things don’t go right with the weather or the prices. We help each other out with seeds and trying to get a fair deal for what we grow in our fields. It is not some big fancy office. It’s just a group of neighbors. We spend most of our time out in the dirt rather than sitting behind a desk. There is a lot to learn about new ways to plant things, so we talk about that a lot during the evenings. Sometimes the crops are good, and sometimes not so much, but we keep going anyway. Our families have been doing this for a long time. It feels right to have a formal name for it now. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We are just regular people trying to make a living from the land. If you come by Rashidpur, you will see us working. We mostly focus on what grows best in this specific soil. It’s a simple setup but it works for us. We just want to make sure the work we do actually pays off at the end of the season.
