We’ve got our small setup at Rekha Devi’s house, which is House No. 0 on the street in Khodwandpur. It’s right in the middle of the village here in the Begusarai district. The name of the company, Flc Crops And Scince Llp, sounds a bit formal, but we’re just regular folks. We spend our days thinking about how to make the local crops better. The weather in Bihar can be really unpredictable, so we’re always watching the sky. Our office isn’t much to look at. It’s just a room with some old desks and a lot of papers. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when the kids are playing in the street outside. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just handle the seeds and the soil and try to help the farmers around here get a better yield. It’s hard work and the days are long. Sometimes we stay late into the evening just to finish the paperwork. We don’t use any of those big corporate slogans. We just want to do a decent job and stay honest with our neighbors.
