Rethiya Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of the village of Rithiya. If you are looking for us, we are located over in Basti, at house number 29. It’s Arjun Kumar’s place. We are basically a group of farmers from this local area. We came together because it makes more sense than working alone all the time. Being in Basti, especially near Maharipur, means we are out in the fields a lot. There’s always work to do with the soil and the seasons. We don’t have a big corporate building or anything. We just use the space we have in the village. It’s where we meet up to talk about the crops and what needs to be done next. Life here is pretty quiet, just the usual routine of planting and harvesting. Some days are longer than others, especially when the rain doesn't come when you expect it. We just try to help each other out with the farming stuff. It’s hard work but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a bunch of people trying to make a living from the land here in Uttar Pradesh. You can usually find someone around the village if you need to talk. We keep it simple and just focus on the farming side of things. That's how we operate every day. It is a long process but we keep moving forward together in Rithiya village without much complaint or worry about being fancy.
