N T C The Luggage Shop is sitting right at 63 Main Road in Jayanagar. It’s a very easy place to find because we are right there where everyone walks. We have been selling suitcases and all kinds of travel bags for a long time. The shop is quite deep and we have bags stacked up almost to the ceiling on both sides. It’s a bit dark towards the back but we have some lamps to help out. We don't have any fancy decorations or a modern storefront. It’s just the same old wooden shelves and the linoleum floor that’s seen a lot of feet over the years. My family has been running this for a generation now. We don't bother with fancy advertising or social media accounts. We just open the shutters every morning and see who comes in. Jayanagar Main Road is always noisy with buses and cars, so we usually have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We help customers test out the locks and see how much they can fit inside the bags. Sometimes we have to climb a ladder to get a specific color down for someone. It’s a bit of physical work, especially when the big shipments arrive. We keep our records in a thick diary and use an old calculator for the totals. It’s a simple way of doing business but it works for us and our customers seem to like it that way.
