If you go down to Mamulpet and look for Vinayaka Market, you’ll find Ramesh Bags Trading Co at stalls 71 and 72. It’s a crowded place, very typical for this part of the city, with narrow lanes and lots of movement. We’ve been trading bags here for years. Our space is packed with all kinds of stock, from small pouches to larger bags, piled up high. It’s not the kind of place where things are laid out like a boutique. It’s a working warehouse and shop combined into one. We spend most of our time dealing with suppliers and talking to customers who come in looking for specific items. It gets quite hot and dusty in the market during the summer, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t have a fancy office; we usually just sit on stools near the entrance so we can see who’s coming and going. The atmosphere is loud with the sounds of other traders and carts passing by. We know most of the other shop owners around here, and there’s a sense of community in the market. We don't do any big promotions. People come to us because they know we have the stock and we’ve been here a long time. It’s a basic, honest way of doing business. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s what we know. We just deal in bags and keep the cycle going every day.
