Auto Bags

We are located in the New Timberyard Layout, right across from the BHEL 2nd Gate on Elphinstone Road. If you come looking for Auto Bags, you’ll hear the sewing machines before you see us. We make bags for all sorts of uses. Some go on bikes, some are for carrying heavy tools. It’s a dusty part of town, and our shop reflects that. There are rolls of heavy fabric and heaps of thread everywhere. We aren't trying to be a high-fashion brand. We just make stuff that holds up when you're moving things around. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or dust from the machines. We spend a lot of time fixing the needles because they snap when we go through the thick material. It’s noisy and there isn't much space to walk around once we get a big order going. Customers usually just walk in from the street to ask for a custom strap or a repair. We don't have a fancy website or a catalog. We just show people what we’ve already made sitting on the shelves. It’s a lot of sitting in one spot and focusing on the stitches. Sometimes we get orders for hundreds of bags, and other days it’s just one guy needing his backpack fixed. We take it as it comes. It's a simple operation and we like it that way.
