Captain Bags

Captain Bags is located at number 22 on 7th B Main in the RPC Layout. We are right near the Maramma Temple, which most people in the 2nd stage of Magadi Road know well. Our shop is a pretty simple place. We have been here for years, and not much has changed inside. The shelves are made of old wood, and we have bags hanging from every available hook on the walls. We sell everything from school bags to heavy duffels for traveling. It’s usually just me and a helper running the place. We start the day by pulling up the heavy iron shutters and putting a few colorful bags out on the sidewalk to catch people's eyes. Magadi Road is always loud with the sound of buses, but our little street is a bit calmer. We don't have a computer, so we do all our math on a small calculator and write the receipts by hand. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack boxes in the small bathroom at the back. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. Most of our customers are folks who live around the temple and stop in while they are out doing their errands. We don’t do any fancy promotions or anything like that. We just open up every day and wait to see who comes through the door. It’s a steady, quiet life in a good neighborhood.
